[cobalt-users] Frontpage disaster, please help

Hi;
I have some problems with frontpage. I dont know so much appache or linux.
The beginning:
*I want to upload come cgi s to my cobalt RaQ3 which has FP 2000 extentions using FP client.
>FP give no permission, ı can upload them with FTP, but cannot change their chmod status.
*I telnet as root and changed the frontpage configuration file to allowexutables upload.
*I reboot the server
The disaster:
> The all sites except the admin site were unreachable, web server was stopped.
* I changed the FP conf file to it's original. And reboot again.
> Nothing changed.
* I tried to run the web server from telnet
> it gave some syntax errors on the access.cnf file.
* I copy the file access.cnf (that is found in the same dir) to access.cnf and run the web server. After 8 hours of useless email communicating with the dedicated server company.
> All Web sites run
* Now there are some problems, when I open the main site from web server the user webs are not seen in FP client. They are there in FTP and browsable. When I want to upload to a known user web in FP client
>it says the web server does not give permission to create subwebs etc. .
*When I want to open that subweb from FP client (writing mainsite/~userweb)
>it says "The folder http://mainsite/~userweb isnt accessible. The folder may be located on an unavaible volume or protected with a password"
* I still can not use the cgi s. I goto the frontpageadmin program from telnet to reinstall or check FP ext,
>it says your server config file has no port directive etc.
What is the problem how can I correct it?
