AW: [cobalt-users] Replacing Hard drive in a RAQ3

In addiction to the Intel Ether Express you can use also a
3COM 3c595-TX Rev C Fast Etherlink PCI
3COM 3c905-TX
Netgear FA310TX ethernet card (Tulip 21143-based)

but only these cards will work!!!! (i've testet it with a Intel Card)

if you have a 3COM 3c905B or a 3C905C these drivers will be loaded, but the
upgrade WONT work....
so have fun searching a card which works ... :-)

Have Fun

You need a computer that is attached to the RaQ3 via crossed ethernet
cable. The network adapter in this computer needs to be compatible with the
drivers on the OS restore-CD. One that works would be: Intel Eather Express
100. Ensure that the system BIOS of this computer supports bootable CD-ROM
(and please do also ensure that it is turned on in the system BIOS). After
that, turn on the RaQ3 and then boot from the CD of the other computer. If
everything works, you will get more informations on screen (it says how to
continue with the restore over the network). It will then copy all the
necessary files from the CD over the network cable to your RaQ3 and it will
start some setup routines on the RaQ3 machine.

After the operating system works on the RaQ3, you need to restore all the
.raq backup files. I hope that they're not too large in your case -
otherwise, you might have problems restoring them.

Sorry, this is just a short mail but I thought I'd drop you a mail with the
most important things about it. Feel free to contact me if you have some
additional questions concerning your problem.

Good luck
