Are you sure that the SCSI card is a supported card? I was under the
impression that the Qube doesn't support *any* additional devices. I
certainly don't see any modules for any additional devices.

Well, it would be if the Qube doesn't support any additional devices. I
think the point is that you aren't supposed to add devices.
You're going to have to do some hacking to add support. Here's
approximately what to do.
Install the full kernel source code and headers.
Configure and compile a kernel and modules for the card and tape
drive.
Install the kernel and modules.
Configure start up scripts to load correct modules.
Write backup scripts to manage tapes and drive or:
Download source code for backup management system like Amanda.
Compile and install backup management system.
Configure backup management system.
You _are_ an experienced systems administrator aren't you?
BTW, Cobalt, a Qube would make a really nice drop in network backup
system. Build it (DLT? Travan? Onstream?) into the case, use the file
system as network cache. Add clients through the web interface. it'd make
backups much easier for small companies. User just plugs in a new tape
each day. Something like Amanda (http://www.amanda.org/) but add Windows
and MAC backup clients.
