Sounds like the script is munged somehow. Try checking your /etc/cron.daily/ntpdate.auto file. It should look (something) like this: #!/bin/sh # NTPdate cron event # Configured through the administrative web interface # Copyright (C) 1998, Cobalt Networks, Inc # All rights reserved sleep 177 /usr/sbin/ntpdate 204.123.2.5 >>/var/cobalt/sauce.log 2>&1 /sbin/clock -w -u >>/var/cobalt/sauce.log 2>&1 Brandon Wheaton UNIX Systems Engineer ValiCert, Inc. 1215 Terra Bella Ave. Mountain View, CA 94043 650.567.5430 ---- Computers are useless; they can only provide answers. ~Pablo Picasso -----Original Message----- From: bbaggett@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bbaggett@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, June 28, 2000 1:03 PM To: cobalt-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [cobalt-users] RAQ3 NTP question I've been getting the following message every day since I set up the NTP through the admin GUI. > /etc/cron.daily/ntpdate.auto: syntax error near unexpected token `/sbin/clock' > /etc/cron.daily/ntpdate.auto: /etc/cron.daily/ntpdate.auto: line 12: `/sbin/clock -w -u >>/var/cobalt/sauce.log 2>&1' > I entered an IP address for a secondary NTP server in the "NTP Server Address" field on the admin GUI, but something must not be working correctly. The IP address I use is 63.192.96.3. Any suggestions?
