It's called POP-before-SMTP.  I believe.

I suppose this is supposed to be in some way relevant to the guy (gal?  
I can't remember) that said their machine was completely unresponsive, 
not even ping-able, and you suggested checking logfiles.

So let's get this straight, you've disabled ping for security reasons,
but you've enabled relaying for any spamhaus out there that wants to
use your machine?  Or only for people that use the same dial-up ISP?

(If that's AOL, boy, that'll really stop the spammers...)
