[cobalt-users] [RAQ 1] Sendmail 8.8.8 security

I have a RAQ 1 and installed all the patches so far.
I realized the other day that I'm still running sendmail 8.8.8 if I'm not
mistaken. I understand that this version of sendmail is *highly* prone to
spammer attacks and buffer overflow exploits to gain root shell. Is there a
patch available from Cobalt that I missed ? Will there be one soon ? If not,
can anyone tell me if its safe to upgrade to a newer sendmail all by myself
? I know it voids warranty, but security is kinda more important to me
