General. (IIRC). You may not need the other letters, but for those
who do - Certificate of Secondary Education. In England and Wales,
(but not Scotland, for they do things Their Way, and I don't know about
the other bits of the UK) a set of exams taken at the age of approximately
sixteen. Most people do about ten subjects. I think. It's been a long
time since I had to worry about such things, and if I ever do procreate,
it'll be a long time until I have to again.
Of course, it is quite possible to take Adult Education classes later
on in life and do these exams, as my mother did, studying geology
when comfortably into middle age. And passing, I should add.
So, from Mark's exhortations to the rest of us to "stop being childish"
etc., I'll assume he's an experienced sysadmin taking the exam for a
laugh.
