Re: [cobalt-users] Re: Install Pkg the safe way
You must do a manual reboot to get it to take. The automatic
reboot does not work on some raqs.

attention, i examined the package a bit (not yet installed) :
1)the package has it`s own upgrade script
2 the packing_list contains the argument "reboot"
so i assume that a reboot is REQUIRED; although i could not find
any
kernel upgrades in the package
i don`t know if the /usr/local/sbin/cobalt_upgrade script does the
job
right (there may be some reason for it`s own upgrade script...); i
didn`t compare them.
a more simple way to download the package directly to the server
is :
1. create an appropriate directory, e.g. /tmp/update or
/home/sites/home/users/admin/upgrade
2. cd /tmp/update or /home/sites/home/users/admin/upgrade
3. wget
ftp://ftp.cobalt.com/pub/packages/raq3/eng/RaQ3-en-OSUpdate-3.0.pkg 4.
wait a bit 5. done
