hmm......

(1) Well, HTML is for web pages, not for emails. That alone should be
enough.
(2) HTML is 50 times longer than any plain text message.
(3) Not everyone can read HTML emails.
(4) Nobody wants to read HTML emails.
(5) Well, (2) causes enourmous costs (bandwidth) and time effort (html loads
slower and you can be almost sure that it's a newbie post with "send him to
the archives" questions).
