This isn't off topic ... SAMBA is a standard service on the Qube.

Straight out of the box, SAMBA on a Qube is configured to always lose an 
"election".

In /etc/smb.conf change one line in [Global] to be;

        os level = 33

This will make SAMBA the same level as a WinNT Server.  For small LANs 
which have a bunch of workstations and use a Qube instead of a WinNT 
Server, this is a perfect solution.

Even in LANs with WinNT Server running its probably an appropriate change 
as the Qube will have a larger uptime anyway and hence should be the 
Master Browser.  ;-)

I thought warranty was a hardware issue only.
