Hello,
> I rebooted the server just to be sure
I have just completed updating 3 RaQ3i's with success. It's odd people
saying that they rebooted just to be sure. I installed using the method
Cobalt mentioned (/home/packages and through the UI) and it *prompted* me to
reboot after each installation. I presume that you must reboot since there's
a new kernel.
Only had one problem on one server - after initiating the install my browser
window crashed <sigh IE>, the upgrade finished fine, but the server would
NOT reboot. I tried the UI, I tried /sbin/shutdown -r now and I tried
/sbin/reboot. All of them issues the shutdown warning but nothing happened
and the log files had nothing in them to indicate a problem.
I was about to get the colo to powercycle, but I tried a last ditch
/sbin/reboot -f and that forced a reboot (not nice). Thankfully, everything
came up fine.
