The previous answers are mostly good. Here is what you need to pay
attension to:
1) Generate a separate key for each certificate is better
2) on the same server, on one passphrase is asked, so you need to set the
passphrase for all key to be the same (it is possible to change the
passphrase at any time)

1) is needed so that if one of your customers moves, you can give him his
certificate with the key without compromising the other certificates
2) is needed to have different keys for each virtual host while using the
standard password dialog of mod_ssl.
