[cobalt-users] Re:NT on raQ2

I don't know who is trying this, but I suppose I should give them fair
warning.

Firstly, the Mips port of NT is custom-built for a small set of Mips
workstations, which does not include Cobalt Qube/RaQ hardware.

Secondly, NT requires a mouse/keyboard and video, none of which are
available on Cobalt Qube/RaQ hardware.

Thirdly, the Cobalt BIOS does not know how to boot any random OS.

Fourthly, you'll need the NT source code to build a HAL for Cobalt
Qube/RaQ hardware.

Fifthly, NT requires a LOT of CPU power (far more than linux). If you
were to overcome the first four obstacles, the Mips processors in Cobalt
Qube/RaQ hardware will probably be sadly underpowered for your effort.

Now, RaQ 3, which has some of the same obstacles (BIOS,
keyboard/video..) is Intel-compatible, and therefore has at least a
fighting chance. It would still be a big (BIG) effort.
