Why don't you just recompile sendmail and make a new .cf file and fix it
yourself?

I was looking for a method to call a CGI script on another server every day
at a certain time. Would one of these accomplish that? Is curl something
that's installed by default on a RAQ2?
I tried the crontab:
20 14 * * * * curl http://www.domain.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi
Then I received an email from the server:
From: Cron Daemon
Sent: Monday, June 12, 2000 2:20 PM
Subject: Cron <admin@admin> * curl http://www.domain.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi
/bin/sh: script.cgi: command not found
Then I tried lynx -dump instead and got:
From: Cron Daemon
Sent: Monday, June 12, 2000 2:40 PM
Subject: Cron <admin@admin> * lynx -dump
http://www.domain.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi
/bin/sh: script.cgi: command not found
Any ideas?
TIA

We are very sorry, but we cannot say when this version will be available. We
don't like the idea of giving out software that is still beta. We have first
developed the RaQ2 version and tested it for a very long time on many
systems in order to ensure that it works perfectly. We are now doing the
same with the RaQ3.
When the tests are complete, we will send a posting to this list to let you
know.

Niether cURL nor Lynx come preinstalled on a Raq2. Perhaps Lynx is
installed on the Raq3. Wget may be installed on the Raq2.

I think that is my bad... I don't think that the cron likes the multiple
arguments there.
So what you should do is soemthing like create a file call it something like
/home/sites/home/users/admin/snag.sh:
#!/bin/sh
curl http://www.domain.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi
make sure it is chmod'd to be executable (like 755), and make sure it is
owned by the owner of the crontab.
then put
20 14 * * * * /home/sites/home/users/admin/snag.sh
in your crontab.
It should work, if you have either curl or lynx installed (using the
appropriate command, of course).

Got the same email from the server:
From: Cron Daemon
Sent: Monday, June 12, 2000 4:12 PM
Subject: Cron <admin@admin> * /home/sites/home/users/admin/snag.sh
/bin/sh: script.cgi: command not found
That shouldn't be anything like:
#!/bin/sh
curl "Location: http://www.domain.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi"
[admin admin]$ whereis curl
curl:
[admin admin]$
So it appears to be on the server.
should it? I just copied your script from the previous post for the .sh
file.
I tried:
[admin admin]$ curl http://www.domain.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi
bash: curl: command not found
Just trying to accomplish this as simply as possible without having to
install any modules.
TIA

Just a quick followup to Dan's post about AIT.
I forwarded the post to Kevin Hagus, who, from my understanding, is #2 at
AIT under Clarence Briggs, who owns the place. He responded almost
immediately (at 130AM!!) and said that he had just been made aware of the
situation by the manager on duty. Apparently only he and Clarence can
delete accounts for TOS violations. He did promise to take action... but I
notice the site is still up.
So... maybe Dan was correct, but my own experience is that AIT has been
pretty vehement in their dislike of SPAM. OTOH, most TOS probably don't
specifically ban the sale of materials *used* for spamming, but instead
only ban the act of spamming (or receiving mail/website hits as a result
of spam), so these folks may, in fact, not be in violation of the TOS.
It would be interesting to see the language of the tier-1 providers. At
some point I may have to take a few minutes and dig this out just for my
own enlightenment.

Reply-To: cobalt-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi..
I'm having a problem on a RaQ3. The admin users the sites can't access /web
from the FTP. When they connect, it takes some time to authenticate the
password (more than usual) and they connect to
/home/sites/siteN/users/<username>/, and they can't go anywhere from there
(exept "web", insite the user directory), so they can only publish files on
their web directory, but not on the site's main web directory
(/home/sites/siteN/web).
Has anyone experienced this before? any ideas?
Thanks! bye..

There was a post in news:news.admin.net-abuse.email about it from someone
who said they talked to AITCOM and was told that Spamware is OK, as long as
they don't Spam via AIT or mention an AITCOM.net address in the Spam.

Some, like Erols, prohibit it, some don't. UU.net is supposedly working on
new language to prohibit it.

Does anyone know what this means?! It appears in my GUI interface under
the Active Monitor screen...:
swatch_service_body_defcon_2
This is an emergency... I could sure use some help, as Cobalt was
dissapointingly unhelpful...

Should be /var/spool/mail
That's where your POP users mail is until they retrieve it.

This doesn't seem to work on my Raq3i. I tried to add 'support' in the
'hostname' field and 'computechnv.com' in the 'domain name' field and it
tells me: "Another site is already aliased to the domain computechnv.com".
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it sure doesn't want me to do this.

This is very simple to do. When on the "Add New Virtual
Site" screen, simply put the 'subdomain' name in the 'Hostname'
field and the domamain name in, you guessed it, the domain name
field. The result will be a url of:
http://subdomain.domain.com/
Peace be with you,
Brent

Hi
Another question about catch all sorry
if some domains have catch all on ( then the autoresponders ect will not
work)
on other domains they setup as normal will the autoresponders work OK on
theys ? as on the ones i have setup without catch the autoreponder only
works 1 in 50 ?? so not is not working :-(
wonder when colbolt will include a catch all that works ? as I think most
people would want this

Uncheck 'Web Access by Domain ' when you create the subdomain.
