Luc specifically asked about a solution to measure FTP and mail traffic in addition
to web traffic. Though Manuel's product (musita) may have that
functionality*eventually*, it doesn't now so it doesn't address Luc's needs. When it
does, I'd like to be notified, but until then, please don't jump at every chance to
pump this product, especially when it doesn't address the requestor's needs. This
list gets enough traffic as it is.

Since email traffic is logged to /var/log/maillog and ftp traffic is logged to
/var/log/xferlog, finding out mail and FTP traffic isn't rocket science, though using
it to generate reports that meet your needs isn't trivial. Webalizer can be
configured to generate reports based on /var/log/xferlog so you can get reasonable
data about your FTP traffic down to the virtual site level. There's a utility called
mreport that generates simple reports from the command line about your email traffic.
Installing it takes about a minute and it's easy to use so give it a try. I found it
on freshmeat.net last year so you can probably find it there still. And while you're
at freshmeat.net, see what other tools might help capture FTP and mail traffic and
let us know so some of us can test them out.
