As I recall, the list was started some years ago by Avi Freedman (may be
spelled wrong) as a place for ISPs to share information about finding
good connectivity to the net.
While there's still quite a bit of that going around, it's now a
coffee-klatch for ISPs. You can literally (and on-topic) discuss
anything from BGP-routing issues to what kind of car you drive.
About the only thing you can't say is that you invented the Internet
<smile>. Unless you did, of course <smile, again>.
