Hi,
First I am a "Real" newbie to: Unix, Apache, DNS and all the jazz!
I am learning but not fast enough for my needs :(
I tough that paying a premium for a turnkey Pentium computer with all
software installed and ballance would put me on the fast track.... I am more
like at a halt on the shoulder.
Cobalt take from 4-6 days before returning E-mails with next to no answer
("we don't support this", "here is alink to some reading" (That I had aready
read).
At this paste this PII will become obsolete before it even hits the road!
Now that I have steamed out some frustration, lets get to the problem. :)))
Situation:
I have a RAQ3i that I can't have working properly.
I want to use a DataBase. I thought of using the included Postgresql (is
MySql better or more stable?).
I installed the PHP3 RPM (3.0.16) from the Cobalt site.
Php seems to work OK until I try to access Databases. (Browser don't show
the page or return an "not validate" error).
I am still not clear on the fundamental concept of the different DNS
parameters and operation.
Wanted:
I would like to find someone who can:
Tell me how or setup himself properly Postgresql(MySQL) & PHP so that I can
access from browser base applications.
If needed, install newer version of those (I don't understand the ins and
outs of compiling Linux or Apache to install a software (its feels to me
like recompiling Windows to install Word!!)).
Someone who knows all the "--with " parameters (it seems Cobalt does its
installs in different directories than the "standards").
Someone who understand DNS.
And eventually I suppose I will want to use SSL!
And... any ongoing problems that are gone a pop-up.
And finally someone patient enough to brief me on all those, as I not only
want to have this RAQ operational, but I want to understand how.
Ideally, I would like to find one(1) person to do it all.
I suppose all of the work would be done through Internet.
There would also be some telephone communications(its faster for the
briefings).
If you are interested, please send me your coordinates, availabilities and
fees.
If your are a night howl... that's find with me to :))
Regards,
Mark Mihalcean
