Let me guess: you've got a RaQ3.  This is a well known RaQ3 bug.  There
was an unofficial patch available from a Cobalt employee, but it got
yanked a month or two ago.  You are supposed to use the mythical RaQ3 OS
Update 3.0 to fix this long standing bug (and many others), but it is
not available unless your RaQ3 is the Japanese version.
