I use the Palace Server - see http://www.thepalace.com for more information.
It's a highly interactive, multimedia application that allows users to chat
in addition to building their own communities integrating the web, graphics,
avatars, sound, animation and scripts.  It's also highly popular having
hosted java chats such as comedy central, macy gray, nsync, garbage and
david letterman.
