I have no experience with RaQ3s with regard to adding large disks, but from a
technical point of view, you might have to do some kernel changes to support
large disks at least before 2.2.13pre14, which we have now luckily passed.
Those were rather trivial as far as I remember, more like modifying a
one-liner in disk geometry detection (i.e. comparing reported LBA size to
traditional geometry size and not accepting LBA size & parameters if the two
differ by more than, if I remember this right, 10 per cent; this used to be a
workaround around faulty LBA implementation in some old drives).
What I am actually looking for is a second drive bay mount kit for the
standard RaQ3; there is only one bay mounted inside, I would need another.
Where can I order these? I'd like a simple software RAID as an additional
backup measure, as I do not think Cobalt's rudimentary backup option (the
proprietary, Legato & Arkeia are fine) will get me back up & running that
fast.
