I am moving from a RAQ2 to a RAQ2 (lateral move, if you will), basically to consolidate my IPs. My question is this:

Can I simply tar up the contents of my existing machine (/etc , /home , /var), FTP it over and UNTAR make configuration changes (changing IPs,
etc) and reboot?

If I could avoid adding the sites and users I would be most happy. Please advise direct, I get the digest which can sometimes be rather slow.
