Re: [cobalt-users] IRC Servers

Yes. The RaQ3 ships with a 2.2.12 kernel, and IRC software is not
compatible with this kernel. Freezes of up to 10-15 minutes occur when a
user is disconnected from their internet connection while on an IRC server
on your box.

Kernel's 2.2.10 and below will work.

Hense my earlier question:

Hello,

I have only recently acquired a Cobalt RaQ3 for my business needs and have
found due to extenuating circumstances that I need to change the current
kernel on the system to that of another more reliable version.

However I have noted that lilo is not installed on the system as I could not
locate a lilo.conf or lilo executable file.

What must be installed or utilised in order to upgrade the kernel? Would I
have to use a cobalt specific tool in order to conduct the procedure?

Thanks,

Sharon

PS could somebody please CC their answer to me privately, as there seems to
be a few hours lag on this mailing list for me.

Can anyone tell me of there experiences with compiling and running IRCd
server software on Raq3 and Raq3i? Did you encounter any problems or is it
any?
