the problem is that you can't necessarily expect that to always
be the case. What you find you can manually edit today might be 
overwritten in the future, and worse, it can happen without notice.
The real essence of the problem is the *policy* that Cobalt has
dictated: thou shalt not hand-edit any files, or you void your
warrantee. They *require* you to use the GUI, and that is a very
big problem for anyone that needs or wants to do something that
the GUI either doesn't do at all, or doesn't do correctly.
