Hi folks,
Please clear this up for me, I'm fairly new to this Raq Servers and hosting
thing, and I have the following question:
What's considered a Sub-web to Front-page? I've seen a lot of postings
stating that Front Page does not support Sub-webs, I think even the manual
states it. But, is name.mydomain.com considered a sub-web of
www.mydomain.com? or can those two be treated as two completely different
sites as far as frontpage is concerned? To my understanding, a sub-web to
front page is when you try to publish to www.mydomain.com/subweb using
different settings and characteristics than your main web Frontpage
configuration. Am I wrong about this? ... is www.mydomain.com/~user a
sub-web? if so, howcome you can enable/disable Front page support to users?
Please clarify this for me.
One of my Frontpage sites is getting fairly large and slow to publish over
a dial up connection and I'm thinking I can divide it up into
site1.mydomain.com, site2.mydomain.com, site3.mydomain.com ... To the best
of my knowledge, this will simplify publishing and give me a lot more
flexibility over the whole site's administration and looks. Are these
considered sub-web of mydomain.com? Please comment.
Let me also take this opportunity to thank everybody on this list. I
subscribed about two months ago and I've received magnificent support from
you. I hope that with all the knowledge you've shared with me I'm soon able
to start posting answers too, instead of just questions. As a matter of
fact, about two weeks ago I posted my first short answer to a Newbie
question, how's that for being a newbie myself?
Thanks again,
Alonso Garcia
