I suffered the same problem starting around March 10. I went away on a
business trip; when I came back, I discovered DHCP failed. Let me repeat it
if you didn't catch it -- it failed during a business trip. No one uses the
box in any way/shape/form except me. No one touched the PCs on its NAT.
Everything looks normal if you do a ps -eaf and the HTML interface says
everything looks good, too. DHCP server *runs* but it doesn't support Win9x
clients.
I wanted to restore to out-of-the-box and rebuild my network from scratch.
Sadly, I must pay $100 for the "privilege." Cobalt offered to rummage
around my system if I gave them the admin password, but they caught me at
exactly the wrong time. I had to go on another trip and I didn't want them
touching the box without me around. (No offense to them.)
