Given that the Qube 2 is, at heart, a Linux box, I assume that it's doable
but unsupported, as you believe. However, I honestly have no idea how to go
about it. I can only suggest that you read some RedHat Linux documentation,
see how it's done in other boxes, then take a shot at it.

Of course, back up your data first and have a restore CD handy... Also,
please do post to the list if you're successful. I'd love to do the same,
but I'm still trying to get my Qube to work properly. Later I'll get on to
hacking it.
