RE: [cobalt-users] Virtual Hosting and 2.0 browsers

It would seem then, that the log is misleading. I've done a few quick
searched on the internet at it appears what I said is definitely true, and
that the HTTP/1.1 issue is down to browser version. Here are some links, the
first from Apache explaining the problem, a few from tech support sites for
web hosting supporting the argument:

http://www.apache.org/docs/vhosts/name-based.html
http://docs.rinet.ru:8083/Apachu/asg04.htm#E68E33 (which I believe has the
version for IE wrong)
http://iperweb.net/eng/html/http11.html
http://www.flvacationcondo.com/support/vservers/faq/vhost.html#What are the
limitations of Virtual Hosting
http://www.boydenterprises.net/Support/support101.htm
http://www.techdroid.net/guide/chapter=15&sec=2.0000.html

I did a lot of work investigating HTTP/1.1 when IIS4 came out (the first
version of IIS to support the protocol) and remember the limitations quite
clearly.

It *is* curious that the logs don't seem to reflect this, but the problem
being experienced seems clearly to do with this issue and the browser
version.
