"man" does not work on an original Qube as delivered, though the data
appears to be there.

The Cobalt Knowledge Base gives instructions on how to install it at
http://www.cobalt.com/support/kb/search.php3?qid=626 (for the 2700D) or at
http://www.cobalt.com/support/kb/search.php3?qid=118 (for the 2700WG).

These are almost identical and both carry the following warning (in bold):
"NOTE: UNSUPPORTED. The following information is outside the scope of Cobalt
Networks Technical Support, and could potentially void your warranty."
This may not really matter, as the original Qubes may be too old to be still
under warranty.
