Hi Darryl,
I'd have to look closer at your network's configuration to
be certain, but my best guess is that you either do not have the
gateway IP address set correctly, the gateway is down, or your ISP
provided you with an invalid gateway address (happens a lot).
Basically, the IP address is assigned to the machine but in
order for someone to access that IP address the machine needs to
connect to the router which provides the "gateway" to the Internet.
I've never used a Cube either so I'm a bit out of my league
as far as specifics are concerned. Nevertheless - a network is a
network. The first step would be to see if you can ping the gateway
router - your ISP should have provided you with this
information. Just telnet into the Cube and do a ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
at the prompt - where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the
gateway you've been assigned.
I suspect you'll find that the gateway is either down or
you did not properly specify it in the setup. As far as how to set
the gateway address on a Cube you'll have to ask someone else :-)
Peace be with you,
Brent
