1. You can subscribe people throw the web interface or tell them to send
email to:
majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxx 
with 
subscribe name_of_listgroup 
inside

It would be usefull to send to the same address mail with "help" in body
of it :)

2. Take a look at reply from majordomo to the help message

You can make majordomo to authorize only people on the list to send
messages, but I'm afraid You have to do it using shell  directly editing
majordomo configuration files. Look at /usr/local/majordomo/lists/ and
then for a file with config of Your list or globally in
/usr/local/majordomo directory.
