Maybe this goes to the wrong person (you never know!), but from all I have
seen today from you I have to share this piece of information with you. It
might not be worth it for others, but it will probably be for you:
Even my young son understands the simple but effective concept of "fist
listen, then speak". Actually, you learn this in Kindergarden. There, you
will be taught sophisticated actions and -- listening (ooh!). If nice aunt
Mary said "Clap your hands, David", little David would clap his hands. If
she said "Put your right hand up and say <I am three years old and I am
proud to be American>", little David would (probably) follow her advice. If
she said "Shut up!", little David would definitely shut up.
Now, we are all grown ups, or at least we pretend to be grown up. We do not
have to follow such simple commands anymore, we are now eligible to think.
Thinking involves the action of listening as well as other basic skills
(which are all being taught in the Kindergarden, and maybe in primary school
if you're late).
Providing the fact that the concept of Listening-before-Speaking is very
difficult to be understood and learned at a later stage of "development"
(=by an adult), you could accuse your parents of not giving you basic
education in terms of "Kindergarden Skills", "Polite Communication" and
"Argumentative Thinking". Maybe you have even attended to a Kindergarden,
but I assume you never had the guidance of nice aunt Mary with her simple,
but effective commands which introduce you into the "New World" of
Listening-before-Speaking.
If you do not understand this post, here is a rather technical attempt into
explaining the communication which you obviously have, but without going
into too much detail.
I am sure you know about the "Pop-before-Relay" patch. Now, just imagine
"Listening-before-Speaking" has a similar concept. Maybe you can follow this
technical advice -- have a look at the patch, the way it is designed, and
well, maybe you can learn from it. It's never too late.
Aww yes, I forgot to say. If you seek revenge for this post, please do not
mailbomb this list. You can reach me personally at above address. Also, my
personal address is the right place to send "Hey, you're a moron and you
know what? I am God." comments to. Send it to me personally, I don't mind.
But do not send it to this list. As calculations have shown earlier today,
posts take a lot of time from this list's recipients, and please don't
forget the non-négligable waste of bandwidth.
Respectfully,
Fathi
