I think Mike has gotten the point at this point in his life (after numerous
postings). Please check the dictionary for the meaning of "brief." Although,
this is considerably shorter than your original posting I dont think it
could be considered brief.

Everybody,
I've received quite a few responses to my longer, less congenial posting of
Sunday dawn. I want to add a brief comment in response to those:
Mike did greatly anger me with his comment. Keep in mind that, over the
years, I've been asked whether we live in trees (not in jest, and several
times), and even if I've ever seen peanut butter! The level of parochialism
and ignorance of "the Outside" that can be found in the States is truly
appalling. I do not, in any way, place Mike anywhere *near* those people...
it's just that I've gotten a little sensitive about the issue over time.
So, to those who say I went too far and sounded pompous, self-righteous, and
full of nationalistic bullshit, I sincerely apologize. I was very upset, it
was very late, and such was not my intention.
I meant, as some of you noticed, to "constructively criticize" Mike in such
a way that other people would also stop and think about something that is
normally taken as a given. I wanted to put forth a different point of view,
as did Jan's last post about Cisco, Siemens, and other companies. My point
was that this entire world is far more diversified and equal than is
sometimes seen. Thanks to those who understood I meant well rather than ill;
it is those open minds that will help the US to remain the world power it is
now.
