I must say well put...  I'm from the US and yes we do sometimes stick our 
heads in the air and think we are the most technologically advanced, most 
fortunate to be born here etc...  Heck the news promotes that idea everyday 
by reporting on the misfortunes of other countries.

Thanks for opening my mind or waking me up... I hope some other people got 
the same from your comments and i'm sorry if I have ever given the same 
notion in the mailing list or anywhere else.

However, I don't think mike ment his comment to be insulting...  I think he 
innocently made a comment, stated his idea...  Hopefully he got the same from 
your message as I got.
