Possibly a quicker way:

Create the domain name without frontpage extensions, visit that domains 
siteadmin by doing: http://www.domain1.com/siteadmin   enter YOUR ADMIN 
username and password and click site settings.  Should be able to enable 
frontpage without any errors in there.
