I don't know of anyplace to hook up. However, I *love* the idea; just the
way the Internet should work. As a matter of fact, I and my lil' ole Qube
will be happy to oblige the moment my cable modem gets installed.
However, let me offer some thoughts on this:
First off, if you really truly only have one server, then if DNS goes south
it shouldn't matter most times, since everything else you serve just died
too! This would certainly be my case, since anything that brought my Qube
down would kill everything I serve. But then, in a rare case where *only*
your DNS service is dead, then it's a lifesaver. This, to me, is a good
enough argument that I support the thought.
But if you want to do this by yourself, I ask: does anyone forbid the use of
the same IP address as both primary and secondary DNS? Because you could
always list the same server twice... Failing that, if you have at least two
IP addresses available to you (some people with one server manage to get two
or more IP's), then you can assign both IP addresses to the same server with
two names... nobody knows the difference, or cares. That way you comply with
the rules and provide two DNS servers, but you have no gain in redundancy.
