I suspect you are referring to the site setting: Web access by domain.

Turning this off does NOT mean that your domain will not serve web pages.
What this setting governs is whether a person can get to your website by
host.domain.tld (with your host probably being "www") only or also by simply
domain.tld (hence the misleading term "web access by domain").

With it enabled, users can go to the website by entering either
http://www.domain.com or http://domain.com

With it disabled, they can only get to your site by the address
http://www.domain.com (and of course the IP address).

No, I don't know offhand how to get your virtual site to not serve webpages
via the GUI.
