[cobalt-users] Users' SMTP Server

Greetings,

I own a RAQ3i and am getting back into free/low cost web hosting. One problem with this biz is you get a lot of spammers abusing your services. The last time I got into it, my server's email was blocked into some large providers, like AOL, due to spammers using my server. I have noticed that the IP address & domain name of my main server shows up in the headers when one of my users sends out email. I was wondering this: Is there a way to make it so their email headers shows the IP and Domain of the user instead of my server? I am thinking it may involve some sendmail configuration, or possibly adding multiple smtp servers on one machine(if that is even possible). Or maybe port settings? I obviously do not know much Unix/Linux.

Anyone know of a way to accomplish this? PLEASE!?!!?

I understand what I am undertaking here, and am willing to deal with the hassles. I have implemented several anti-spam patches to my server, and am confident that I will catch them before AOL. I am still not willing to take the chance that my whole server will be blocked if I am wrong. And I can not launch this thing until I resolve this! (no, I am not willing to consider removing SMTP services from my hosting packages, as many providers do)

Thanks in advance !

David
