Re: [cobalt-users] mysql problem

Title: Re: [cobalt-users] mysql problem
I think you need to type in msqladmin -u root password mynewpassword

where mynewpassword is the password you are entering.

It is a while since I did it but I believe that is the syntax.

Subject: [cobalt-users] mysql problem

Hi all
I have just installed mysql and php onto my raq3. All seems ok except when i first ran mysqladmin i typed mysqladmin password xxxxx. I think xxxxx was supposed to be root password? i did not use root so when i am loged in as root and type any mysqladmin functions i get mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO)'
so what do i do know? can i just re install mysql over the top? will it efect php ?

                       All help appreciated

                           Regards Andy
