I have problems with connecting a w95 drive over ppp to a raq2. 

It works fine on the the LAN, but as soon as I try to connect remotely, it takes forever to bring up the password dialog. Typing either the Unix password or a samba-password (for a new user generated with smbpasswd -a) will bring up the "wrong password" message.

lmhosts is configured with the server name and the ip address.

What am I doing wrong? 

Any help is appreciated.
