Chris,
After begging the list for some time with no response, and checking out the
scripts in the cobalt archives (they are old, buggy, and do not work on the
Raq2) I finally bit the bullet and figured it out, wrote the perl, and I now
have full functional completely automated signup. Includes automatic config
of the users dialup/email/news on their PC, automated radius user file
management and accounting detail, automated cobalt addusers/delete users
with ability to enable all features individually depending on their plan,
fully automated CC verification and billing, all integrated and virtually
maintenance free. I have so much time now I can even post some replies to
this list once-in-a-while!
I utilize Rodopi ISP signup/billing/account management software, and the
free Livingston radius package. After the user signs up using the web
interface, the CC is verified, and the user is fed their .isp/.ins config
file, Rodopi ftp's information required to a pickup directory on the Cobalt,
cron picks it up with the appropriate perl script, and the user account is
created on the site designated by the email address, and an account plan
code is filtered so that the correct features are enabled for the user, the
users aliases are created, they are added to appropriate mailing lists, home
directory and index.html files are created, ftp, shell, quotas are enabled
as necessary, mail forwarding is setup if indicated, Apache configs are
updated, frontpage capability is enabled for the site, and the web browser
management pages are updated so the users site and personal management pages
work properly.
I still need to develop the "suspend user", "unsuspend user", and "modify
user", as well as the site creation and maintenance scripts, but they will
be a breeze since I now possess the knowledge of how all the Cobalt special
sauce works.
If you would like, email me, and I'll send you a tarball of what I've got
for the Raq2.
