I have done that but used FreeBSD and X. Not familiar with Linux commands.
Got a Very good Linux Red hat 6.1 Admin book today. lol

Yep, it is dangerous. Please get a second computer for your own use,
with some kind of Linux or similar operating system. Then use that
system for learning.
It'll probably save you a very messed up server...

emacs /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
C-x s to save
C-x c to close
C-x f to open a new file
