Right you have 2 options really and flat file db ain't one of 'em :-)
either Perl with DBI interfacing into MYSQL etc
or PHP using MYSQL.
I much prefer php when it comes to coding, takes the pain out of writing code
really. But if you know perl really well, I would stick with it...no point in
starting again really.
But for future projects I would take a look at php. if you have a good perl
background, moving across to it will be pretty easy.
You will find RPM installs of MYSQL on the cobaltnet.com ftp (under
experimental, install these as per the readme file int he same directory.
You will then need to install some CPAN modules including perl's DBI to
intereface into MYSQL. Do a search on CPAN for this.
