RE: [cobalt-users] 17 years without a virus until today

Hi again

this virus (VBS_KAKWORM.A-M) is still "wild" but not so harmful!!! there is a fix for people without Mcfee etc at http://www.antivirus.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=VBS_KAKWORM.A-M and its worth noting microsoft have done nothing about the security hole other than produce a patch - new releases are still vulnerable!

Subject: [cobalt-users] 17 years without a virus until today

About 3 weeks ago I got a driver error as I booted up my pc.  I was trying to setup my Raq3 at the time and thought some of the different software must have installation errors.  I had looked at some of the new programs I had downloaded but could not make a connection to the driver error I was getting.  Tonight about 6:15 I rebooted my computer and got the following message.

 "Kagou-Anti-Kro$oft says not today!"

When I clicked the OK bar the machine shutdown.

I found a work around and down.  I downloaded McAfee's anti-virus and found the bad boy  something called KAK Worm. It affects the Outlook email program and several other areas.  My machine is supposed to be clean and sheilded now.

My questions are: "What about my server, co-located RaQ3?
Is it also infected?
How do I protect my clients?

I am open to any suggestions.  And YES I belive there are viris now

thanks
