Well, Robert,

when I code myself, I code directly with a programmer's texteditor -
TextPad.

With more complex HTML-Editors (HotMetal,Netscape Composer and another
free German one) I made the experience, that the savings in time are eaten
up as
soon as you stumble into an error in the generated code. And the code is
often
not very "streamlined". <FONT..>&nbsp;</FONT> is often seen, instead
of creating tables to position text and pictures, they often use a lot of
&nbsp;
and such things.

Thus handcoding the pages is the thing for me.

Aaah - I forgot to mention Frontpage. A typical Micro$oft product - has
everything
and does it in it's own way. Should I buy software and learn how to handle
it for weeks
just to be a good boy to M$ brainwashed customers?

Dreamweaver - I don't know. Could be a good product, but I have not yet
tried
it. When you have some months of experience - tell us.
