Not only is it possible, it's the way you're supposed to do it.
Of course you have to know how to set up Secondary DNS.
And to give you real robustness, your two servers should be on different
networks.

I'm not sure I know what you mean about this. Are you hosting the same
site on both servers using round-robin DNS? Or do you mean just the DNS
will be on both servers?
