try pointing the cname like this www in cname webspyder.com, you are pointing www to ws-raq-01-etcyou did this probably just for examples below but i noticed the lack of periods in your listing. they MUST be there.
or, you could assign the .5 ip addy to www and put that directly below the domain name making the machine name last in the listing in each case for A and PTR records. in actuality, the ptr only needs to have what is important for reverse lookup.. not every name need be listed. i only list machine names when it is important that they have a reverse, otherwise only the domain name and some virtual names are listed. i only list one name per ip addy, unless doing virtual domains.
actually, in review of the above, unless reverse is important for the raq machine name, i would make that a cname and make the www an actual A listing (and of course cnames dont get a ptr listing:)).

I have a Raq 3i and setup DNS using the following: A record webspyder.com - xxx.xxx.xxx.5 reverse lookup xxx.xxx.xxx.5 - webspyder.com A record ws-raq-01.webspyder.com - xxx.xxx.xxx.5 reverse lookup xxx.xxx.xxx.5 - ws-raq-01.webspyder.com Cname record www - ws-raq-01.webspyder.com The Host name in the Network Control Panel is ws-raq-01 and the interface is xxx.xxx.xxx.5 Now I can resolve the name and Ip's fine but when I connect to the raq via a Browser using www.webspyder.com, the browser resolves the name and opens the page, but the Name switches to the Network Host name (ws-raq-01.webspyder.com) as opposed to remaining www.webspyder.com.
