Really its there to protect against SPAM problems. There is no practical
reason why someone should need to send an email to 50 of their closest
friends.
On that note, I have a client that CONSISTANTLY tries to do this even though
I told them that you can't do that, and that is what mailing lists are for.
After explaining the situation several times, I decided to just let the
messages bounce. So, every week, they try to send out a message to all the
staff, and every week it bounces. So basically, its improper use of the
email system, designed to eliminate a poor man's SPAM script (ie. select all
contacts from Outlook and hit send).
