Hi Randy and all the Admins again... You wrote: I'm a little afraid of using chmod in the /home/sites directory because the last time I used chown and chmod I currupted the entire server! Had to restore after setting up 95 clients!!!!! well.... you don´t have to be afraid of using,... chmod....because it´s easy...and you can fix it very easy if something goes wrong. [ i don´t know what can be go wrong but anyway ;-) ] well... the normal settings for /home/sites on a RaQ2 are: that " sites " is owned by " root " and is under the group " root " with the mode 755,... which means that root (that are you *g*) my access/write/read in that dir. the group " root " only may access / read the dir. ( but that doesn´t matter because the owner which is also root have ) ( access / write / read ) The last ones .... are the Public-People... (this are all other people in this case including the other user & siteadmins) (on your server) if you do a chmod 750 /home/sites the public-people havn´t any access or rights.... that´s it... every ftp-client will say... access denied ...or can´t list ls ) or what ever ,...
