Oracle is also *extremely* expensive. It doesn't make sense to
put a $25,000 database engine on to a $2,000 server.
Having said that, I find Oracle to be fast and reliable. Problems
with it are almost always due to misuse. (Apart from installs)
PostgreSQL is a nice free well featured RDBMS that rus well on
the Intel and MIPS based Raqs and Qubes. You might want to take
a look at that. http://www.postgresql.org/
