All you need to do is create a standard text file in notepad, upload it to the
server, and then rename it .htaccess - PCs won't let you have file names beginning
with a full-stop. The only problem is that FrontPage doesn't like .htaccess files -
you would have to remove them before you upload your files with the Publishing
Wizard, and then put it back up there again. This removal/uploading of the .htaccess
file has to be done via standard FTP, so be very careful - it's easy to corrupt the
extensions.
RaQ2s (unlike the RaQ3s) should support FP subwebs, so you could always create a
subweb and then password-protect this instead.

I can not get a RAQ2 to create a .htaccess file. I
want to use front page to set security on a web site.
If not by that then what are the shell commands to set
security to limit user getting into some of the
folders?
